Traps - Cecil Day

In her most recent body of work titled Traps (2008-2010), Cecil Day revisits the familiar subject of hunting in developing a suite of prints. The 15 works constituting this ambitious series include an array of printmaking processes. Coloured, hand-coloured, and soft ground etching as well as examples of aquatint and chine collé highlight the artist’s firm grasp of the discipline.

This publication showcases her skillfully crafted works that represent, to a degree of scale and accuracy, traditional hunting traps – box traps, snares, leg irons- alongside their related quarry.
