    Moons & Mermaids is a story which artist Laura Jolicoeur wrote for her children. It is a book about imagination and how to dream. The story is also told in a series of large ceramic wall pieces which formed the exhibition Moons & Mermaids at the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia. The illustrations for the book are photographs of these ceramic pieces. Moons & Mermaids is an example of the power of words and pictures as tools with which we can express our ideas, to bring them outside of ourselves, and as a means to enrich the lives of those who read them and see them, leading others to their own imaginations and ideas.

    Combining a children's tale with her art, Laura Jolicoeur has created a wonderful tale of Moons and Mermaids as expressions of creativity. Published in concert with her exhibition, this is a wonderful keepsake.
